February 16, 2016

After announcing the partnership with China Union Pay in late 2015, Apple is said to launch Apple Pay in China on February 18, making China the first country in Asia and the fifth in the world adopting Apple's mobile payment services, reported Tencent on February 16. Around 19 banks will support the service, including Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, and China Merchants Bank, to name a few. Apple Pay users can add credit cards and debit cards into their iPhones, Apple Watches and iPads and make contactless payment at store checkouts or online. Apple also plans to bring Apple Pay to Hong Kong and Singapore later this year, said the report.
